SCARCE COPPER PUCE WITH STRONG STRAWBERRY HIGHLIGHTS DRAKES BITTERS

SG59. "ST / DRAKES / 1860 / PLANTATION / X / BITTERS - PATENTED / 1862", (Ring# D105), copper puce with strong strawberry highlights, figural 6-log cabin, smooth base, 10"H x 2 3/4"W, applied sloping collar, shallow 1/8" top of lip flake and a base edge flake of similar size and depth. American, 1865-1875, very scarce in this brighter-than-normal shade of puce.

This attractive Drakes glows with strong shades of pure red when displayed in a sunny window.
