UNUSUAL 31 RIB HALF-PINT PITKIN-TYPE FLASK

 

ITEM SP96. PITKIN-TYPE FLASK, 31 ribs, ribbed and swirled to the right, olive green, pontil scar, 5"H, sheared and fire polished mouth, mint. American, likely blown at a Midwestern or Mid-Atlantic States Glass House, early 19th century, very scarce rib count. Appearing at first glance to be New England in origin, it is this flask's form, quality of metal and (most importantly) highly unusual rib count that is indicative of Midwestern or Mid-Atlantic States production. And, of the few 31 ribbed Pitkin-type flasks we have handled, this is the first in the half-pint size. SOLD!
