1/2"H NEW ENGLAND CHESTNUT WITH DOUBLE COLLAR
ITEM SP62. CHESTNUT BOTTLE, yellow
olive, pontil scar, 8 1/2"H, applied sloping collar with
ring, mint. American, probably blown at an early New England
Glass Works, 1790-1830.
Abnormally crude, generously sized and topped with a scarcely
encountered applied double collar, this fine chestnut bottle
is not as early as some but certainly more unusual and definitely
more aesthetically pleasing than most.
