FORMED PINT-SIZED NEW eNGLAND PITKIN-TYPE FLASK
ITEM SP53. PITKIN-TYPE FLASK,
gold, 36 ribs, ribbed and swirled to the left, pontil scar, 6"H,
sheared and fire polished mouth, mint. New England, probably
blown at a Connecticut Glass Works, 1790-1820.
We have bought and sold many Pitkin flasks over the years but
none quite like this elongated half-pint. The flask's color,
superb mold impression and overall form work perfectly in unison
to produce an object of singular beauty.
