GLASSBORO, NJ" (on base), golden yellow amber with an olive
cast, ewer shaped with applied solid glass handle, smooth base,
10 1/8"H, crudely tooled mouth with pour spout, mint. Whitney
Glass Works, Glassboro, NJ, C. 1870, scarce bottle, rare color.
We have had the pleasure of offering several ewer-shaped Whartons
over the years but none that could compare with this gem. Boldly
embossed, heavily whittled and blown in the best shade of golden
yellow amber Jersey bottle glass, this super piece is sure to
bring a smile to the face of any collector.
