ITEM JNH72. SUNBURST FLASK (McK#GVIII-7), clear yellow olive, pontil scar, pint, sheared and fire polished mouth, about mint (minor mouth roughness and some exterior wear). Blown at the Pitkin Glass Works, East Hartford, CT, 1815-1825, very rare, ex. Ralph Fletcher Collection.

In more than a decade of buying, selling and collecting corrugated rib Connecticut flasks this is far and away the finest example of the elusive GVIII-7 we have had a chance to own. The flask exhibits great glass clarity and the "best" mold definition with sharply corrugated ribbing and distinct neck rings. After enjoying this flask for many years it's finally time for this piece to find a new home.
