ITEM JNH61. BLOWN GLASS CRIMPED
FOOT CREAMER WITH MATCHING BALL COVER, aquamarine with subtle
olive green swirls, bulbous body with short neck, tooled pour
spout, applied crimped foot and applied solid glass handle with
rigaree, pontil scar, creamer measures 4 ¾"H and
6 3/8"H with ball, mint. American, probably blown at a Southern
New Jersey Glass House, C. 1840.
This exquisite little handled creamer is the work of a master
gaffer at the height of his powers. Both the gutsy handle and
thick pad foot belie the object's diminutive stature and graceful,
delicate form. Both the creamer and ball exhibit subtle olive
green swirling indicating that they most likely started life
together.
