labeled ink or medicine - colored pontiled and sided

ITEM JNH58. LABELED "TINCT. AMON. - PREPARED BY R M'DONALD - CORNER OF CHURCH & PEACE STREETS - NEW BRUNSWICK," bright green, ten-sided, pontil scar, 3 1/16"H, delicately flared lip, mint. American, C. 1850.

We have owned this delightful little labeled bottle for quite a number of years and it is finally time for it to find a new home. Colored, pontiled and sided bottles are quite rare, especially those with labels. A quick internet search reveals that this is almost certainly a New Jersey bottle. Whether the label is original I cannot say with certainty (in that the original contents could have been ink) but it has been affixed to the bottle for one hundred and twenty five years or more.
