ITEM JNH1. FREEBLOWN PAN OR SHALLOW
BOWL, deep aquamarine, pontil scar, 2 ¼"H and 7 3/8"D,
outwardly folded rim, mint. American, probably blown at a New
York State Glass House, 1830-1850.
We have owned this gutsy little pan for a number of years and
sadly, it is time for the piece to find a new home. Blown from
a thick, heavy batch of aquamarine bottle glass, the pan has
the feel of having been made at one of the Western New York State
Glass Houses. Undeniably "real" and imbued with an
ample dose of soul, this is one that any collector would be proud
to own.
