Dealers Specializing in the Sale of Early American Bottles, Glass and Period Decorative Arts

ITEM CS7. DIP MOLDED SNUFF BOTTLE, clear olive green, square, pontil scar, 5 11/16"H x 3 ½"SQ, downwardly tooled flared rim, mint. Probably blown at an American Glass House, late 18th/early 19th century. Ex. Philip Cortina and Jim Megura Collection.

This over-the-top master snuff bottle is one of the very finest utility bottles we have offered. The bottle exhibits the "best" squatty form and is distinguished by its unique downturned rim which has somehow survived for over two centuries with nary a nick. For those collectors of colonial era decorative arts who demand the very best, this is it.
