ITEM CD26. UNEMBOSSED MEDICINE BOTTLE, golden olive amber, rectangular with beveled edges, pontil scar, 8"H, applied sloping collar, as manufactured with a nearly invisible 3/8" vertical mouth flash and a pontil chip that does not reach the base edge. Blown at a Stoddard Glass House, Stoddard, NH, C. 1850, rare.

This gutsy Stoddard made medicine bottle is the same size and shape as an embossed Swett's Panacea and darn near as elusive. This top notch example features bright, clean glass, loads of whittle marks and a multitude of bubbles and swirl lines.
