STUNNING HALF-PINT CORRUGATED RIB COVENTRY, CT GI-81 LAFAYETTE DEWITT CLINTON FLASK

ITEM 9878. "LAFAYETTE" / BUST OF LAFAYETTE / "S & C" - "DEWITT CLINTON / BUST OF DEWITT CLINTON / C _ T," (McK# GI-81), clear moss green with a yellow tone, pontil scar, half pint, sheared and fire polished mouth, a mint flask exhibiting just a whisper of wear at the high points. Probably blown at the Coventry Glass Works, Coventry, CT, C. 1824.

I've always had a soft spot for corrugated rib Connecticut made flasks and in particular, those blown in the GI-81 mold. I dare say I fancy myself a connoisseur of this mold and with that said, I am speaking with full confidence when I say "this is a GREAT ONE!" It is this example's strength of impression in the neck area, cut your finger corrugations and beautifully pale color that make it a truly special flask and a top of the line specimen of a hard to find Connecticut Lafayette flask.
