HANDSOME EARLY 19TH CENTURY NEW ENGLAND SNUFF BOTTLE

 

ITEM 9571. SNUFF BOTTLE, yellow olive, rectangular with beveled edges, pontil scar, 4 3/8"H, sheared and tooled mouth, mint. American, probably blown at a New England Glass House, 1800-1830.

This stout "chestnut glass" dip mold snuff dates to the first quarter of the 19th century and it is a superb example of its type with no damage or unexpected wear.
