ITEM 9541. "GREELEY'S BOURBON
/ BITTERS," WITH 80% ORIGINAL LABELS, light, smoky olive
topaz, figural barrel, smooth base, 9 ¼"H, applied
collar, a mint, attic type bottle retaining a few spots of washable
content residue. American, 1860-1870. Rarely found with the original
This spectacular barrel bitters excels in all regards, exhibiting
pleasing glass crudity, offering transparent color and retaining
a good portion of the original, colorful label. Though falling
into the broad category of "green" Greeley's the bottle's
color is best described as "olive topaz," a tone softer
and more pleasing than many others of its general type. Though
not 100% complete, the label is a handsome and colorful addition
to this to this exceedingly attractive figural barrel.
