ITEM 9235. PITKIN-TYPE FLASK, 36 ribs, ribbed and swirled to the right, pale moss green, pontil scar, 6 5/8"H, sheared and tooled mouth, about mint (spotty interior haze at the base edge). Blown at a New England Glass House, 1790-1820.

This Pitkin-type flask is another offering from an old time collection that has been packed away since the 1930s. The woman who collected these flasks had a wonderful eye as indicated by this wonderful Pitkin-type she included in her grouping of pattern molded flasks. The glass is brightly colored, the impression is quite good and the shortened neck lends the piece a singular presence.
