ITEM 9082. SUNBURST FLASK (McK#
GVIII-1), clear with a vaseline tint, pontil scar, pint, sheared
and fire polished mouth, a mint flask exhibiting just a whisper
of wear at the high points. Blown at a New England or New York
State Glass House, 1815-1830. Rare color!
It is the bullseye at the convergence of the sunburst rays that
distinguishes the GVIII-1 from the GVIII-2 and it's remarkable
how this small design change alters the overall look of the flask.
This top-o'-the-line specimen offers both an outstanding mold
impression and pleasing overall glass crudity.
