ITEM 8822. SHEAF OF WHEAT -
STAR, (McK# GXIII-40), bright yellow amber, smooth base, half-pint,
applied double collar, about mint (minor exterior wear). Blown
at the Bulltown Glass Works, Bulltown, NJ, 1858-1870, ex. Charles
B. Gardner Collection.
Decidedly "yellower" than most, this handsome and hard-to-find
little pocket flask was collected by Charles B. Gardner, who
would have appreciated its nuanced charms. The flask is light
in weight, crisply molded and again, decidedly more yellow than
is the norm for this bottle and glass house.
