ITEM 8704. MASTER INK, golden
olive amber, cylindrical, iron pontil scar, 9 5/8"H, applied
sloping collar with ring and tooled pour spout, about mint (minor
exterior wear). New England, probably blown at a Stoddard Glass
House, Stoddard, NH, C. 1850.
This gutsy master ink exhibits all of the character and crudity
typically associated with Stoddard production. Holly and I sold
this bottle more than a decade ago and we have just now reacquired
the piece from the previous owner.
