ITEM 8513. "LAFAYETTE" / BUST OF LAFAYETTE / "COVENTRY / CT" - LIBERTY CAP / "S & S," (McK# GI-86), yellow olive, pontil scar, half-pint, sheared and fire polished mouth, a mint flask with some very minor wear at the high points. Blown at the Coventry Glass Works, Coventry, CT, C. 1824, a scarce flask in a hard to find shade of color.

This truly "historic" figured flask was blown in or around 1824 to commemorate Lafayette's final visit to the United States. This particular example is decidedly "greener" than most and it exhibits better than average mold detailing and a pleasingly crude overall glass texture.
