Dealers Specializing in the Sale of Early American Bottles, Glass and Period Decorative Arts

ITEM 8504. DIP MOLDED SNUFF BOTTLE, straw yellow, square, pontil scar, 4 ½"H x 3"SQ, sheared and fire polished mouth, mint. Blown at a Connecticut Glass House, 1790-1820, extremely rare form.

The pictures tell the story of this spectacular cube-shaped Early American snuff bottle. We have actively collected New England utility bottles for nearly two decades and this is the first example of its type that we have encountered. The form, color and glass character work in perfect unison, creating a truly special late 18th/early 19th century artifact.
