ITEM 8428. "JENNY LIND" - "GLASS WORKS / S. HUFFSEY" CALABASH FLASK, (McK# GI-99), deep emerald green, huge blowpipe pontil scar, quart calabash, applied sloping collar with ring, about mint (inconsequential top of the lip flake). Probably blown at the Isabella Glass Works, New Brooklyn, NJ, 1845-1860. Ex. Dr. Gary Johnson Collection.

Words alone do not do justice to the beauty of this extraordinary calabash flask. Of the green GI-99 flasks that I have seen, this is unquestionably the deepest and richest in color. The strength and detail of the embossing is beyond compare and there is no wear at the high points to diminish the clarity of the impression. A magnificent jagged blowpipe pontil scar serves to further enhance to overall appeal of this flask. The seasoned collector will note that the flask was owned by the late Dr. Gary Johnson, a man of impeccable taste who only bought the very best.
