Dealers Specializing in the Sale of Early American Bottles, Glass and Period Decorative Arts

ITEM 8407. "W.S.C. / CLUB HOUSE GIN" WITH ORIGINAL LABEL, forest/olive green, smooth base, 9"H, applied collar, about mint (inconsequential radiating potstone on back panel mentioned solely for accuracy). American, C. 1870, extremely rare with label.

Any American made case-style bottle is a scarcely encountered object and this fine Civil War era gin is a particularly successful example of the form that boasts bright, rich color, lots of glass crudity and retains its original paper label. Holly and I owned this bottle many moons ago and it remains the only labeled example that we have encountered.
