LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY MASTER SNUFF BOTTLE

ITEM 8380. MAMMOTH SNUFF JAR, olive green, sand chip pontil scar, 6 ½"H x 2 7/8" Square, sheared and fire polished mouth, a mint bottle exhibiting the expected light usage wear. Probably blown at an American Glass House, late 18th/early 19th century, rare form.

This exceptional "master snuff" is a rare survivor that likely dates to the 18th century. The bottle is a fine example with thick, heavy glass, lots of tiny bubbles and no damage.
