DEEP AMBER GIII-11 MOUNT VERNON/MOUNT PLEASANT CORNUCOPIA - URN

 

ITEM 8177. CORNUCOPIA - URN, (McK# GIII-11), deep amber with an olive tone, pontil scar, half-pint, sheared and fire polished mouth, mint. Blown at either the Mount Vernon Glass Works, Vernon, NY or the Saratoga (Mt. Pleasant) Glass Works, Saratoga, NY, 1830-1850.

This attractive fresh to the market flask was recently discovered in a Bristol, VT home. There is a small, circular indentation within the urn that distinguishes this flask from the similar GIII-7s blown in Coventry, CT.
