PITCHER, cobalt blue, elongated cylindrical body with applied
neck threading and applied solid glass handle, pontil scar, 5
5/8"H, tooled mouth with exaggerated pour spout, mint. Blown
at a Pittsburgh District Glass House, Pittsburgh, PA, C. 1840,
This scarcely encountered but classically "Pittsburgh"
pitcher is a particularly successful example of its type. Collected
in the early 80s, this fine piece has been off the market for
nearly 30 years.
