OVERSIZED PATTERN MOLDED GLOBULAR BOTTLE

ITEM 8085. PATTERN MOLDED GLOBULAR BOTTLE, 24 ribs swirled to the right, golden amber, pontil scar, 8 ½"H, outwardly folded collar, an undamaged bottle exhibiting the expected usage wear. Blown at a Midwestern Glass House, C. 1830, scarce size and form. Noted collector Paul Ballentine would have placed the form of this bottle in the company of "the best," as the spherical body, perfectly proportioned short, pipe-stem neck and bold ribbing are reflective of the gold standard in Midwestern glassblowing.
