ITEM 8031. UTILITY BOTTLE, bright
yellow green with an olive cast, cylindrical, pontil scar, 6
7/16"H, outwardly folded mouth, about mint (minor wear and
a few freckles of interior haze). American, probably blown at
an Ohio Glass House, 1820-1840, very rare color. Ex. Kim Lane
Collection.
This fresh to the market utility bottle was collected by Kim
Lane of Middlebury, VT. All evidence points towards an Ohio attribution,
as the bottle's color, mouth finish, glass type and overall construction
are each peculiar to glass blown in the Buckeye State.
