ITEM 8002. BLUEBERRY BOTTLE, golden olive amber, cylindrical with fluted neck and shoulders, early smooth base, 11 ¼"H, applied mouth with ring, a mint bottle retaining some content residue. Blown at the Willington Glass Works, West Willington, CT C. 1860, scarce. Ex. George S. McKearin Collection.

If you're looking for a blueberry bottle to add to your collection, this is the one. This bright, beautiful and highly whittled bottle is the exact bottle pictured as #3 on plate 73 of "American Bottles, Flasks and their Ancestry." It is one of a small lot of like bottles found in the 1920s in the vicinity of the Willington Glass Works and attributed to that factory by family history.
