ITEM 7976. "SUCCESS TO THE RAILROAD" / LOCOMOTIVE - "SUCCESS TO THE RAILROAD" / LOCOMOTIVE, (McK #GV-1), brilliant aquamarine, pontil scar, pint, crudely sheared and fire polished mouth, mint. Blown at the Lancaster Glass Works, Lancaster, NY, C. 1850, scarce.

Exhibiting brilliant luster, bold embossing and pleasing glass crudity, this spectacular Lancaster, NY railroad flask is as fine an aquamarine example as the collector could hope to find. There is not even a touch of wear at the high points and the piece retains a pioneer collector's label on the neck.
