ITEM 7907. BLOWN MOLDED PITCHER
WITH PANELED BASE, clear flint glass, elongated cylinder drawn
from 12 paneled mold, applied solid glass handle with medial
rib and simulated neck threading, 7 ¾"H, sheared
and tooled rim with pour spout, mint. American, 1820-1840, rare.
The 12 paneled mold used to create this pitcher was utilized
by glassblowers in both Pittsburgh, PA and Sandwich, MA but the
execution of the handle leads me to believe that that this is
a Sandwich made object. The pitcher is both large and heavy but
at the same time gracefully formed and visually delicate.
