18TH CENTURY PAINTED DUTCH GLOBULAR BOTTLE

ITEM 7793. PAINTED GLOBULAR BOTTLE, olive amber with multi-colored paint decoration, pontil scar, 12 1/8"H, crudely applied string rim, mint. Dutch, C. 1760, rare. Adorned with a beautifully executed painted naval battle scene, this 18th century Dutch bottle is a truly rare survivor. It is believe that the painting depicts a battle from the Second Anglo-Dutch War, likely a confrontation of June 11, 1666.
