ITEM 7700. HANDLED WHISKEY JUG, golden orange amber, pear shaped with applied solid glass handle, pontil scar, 6 1/8"H, applied sloping collar, mint. New England, probably blown at a Stoddard, NH Glass House, C. 1855, rare.

Found in New Hampshire and almost assuredly blown there, this handsome, damage free jug dates to the 1850s. As one would expect of a Stoddard made piece the glass is quite crude with numerous bubbles and swirl marks.
