Any New England made jar is a rare item but first period (late 18th/early 19th century) jars are particularly hard to find. Blown of "chestnut glass," this Connecticut made beauty is as fine an example as the collector could dream of. The jar is nearly identical to the iconic Knowlton Jar from "New England Glass and Glassmaking" and it was proudly displayed by Norm Heckler Sr. for more than thirty years. SOLD! |
