The GVIII-5A mold is distinguished by the "bullseye" at the center of the sunburst design and it is to my eye the most attractive of the 3 acquirable Pitkin made sunburst molds. The bottle is among the earliest of the American figured flasks and arguably one of the first blown. Of attic quality, this startlingly attractive example exhibits remarkably little wear at the high points. It is the flask's overall crudity however, that makes it as fine an example as we have encountered - the uneven glass thickness and numerous bubbles create a beautiful appearance in the sunlight.
