OVERSIZED
NEW ENGLAND PITKIN-TYPE INK
ITEM 7655. OVERSIZED PITKIN-TYPE
INK, olive green, 36 ribs swirled to the left, pontil scar, 2
1/8"H x 2 9/16"D, tooled disc mouth, mint. Blown at
a New England Glass Works, 1790-1820, rare size.
This impressively sized Pitkin ink towers over others of its
type and as shown, it is also well formed and very boldly ribbed.
The bottle is also lighter in color than most, with the seedy
olive green glass passing light evenly from top to bottom.
