EXTRA NICE GII-48 EAGLE - FLAG HAMMONTON, NJ QUART

ITEM 7593. EAGLE - FLAG / "COFFIN & HAY / HAMMONTON," (McK# GII-48), aquamarine, pontil scar, quart, sheared and fire polished mouth, mint. Blown at the Cofffin & Hay Glass Works, Hammonton, NJ, 1836-1847.

Big, bold and sporting a particularly spirited rendering of an American eagle, I have always been a fan of these Hammonton, NJ quarts and this is a good one for sure. Blown from a heavy gather of glass, the flask is chunkier than most and as boldly embossed as good be.
