EXTREMELY RARE SALMON PINK GXIII-17 HUNTER - HOUND

ITEM 7571. HORSEMAN - HOUND, (McK# GXIII-17), light to medium salmon pink, smooth base, pint, applied double collar, a mint bottle with some minor wear at the high points. Probably blown at the Baltimore Glass Works, Baltimore, MD, C. 1870, extremely rare color.

A bottle collecting friend once defined "good color" as something that could be seen from across the room. In this instance the color is good enough to be seen not only across the room but across a DARK room! Primarily "pink" with some tones of salmon or apricot, this exceptional flask is one of only a handful known in this color. The mold impression is superb and the glass exhibits some crudity with a pleasing array of differently sized bubbles. This is a previously unrecorded example from an old-time collection. Not many folks can claim to have any bottle in this color much less a figured flask!
