NEW
ENGLAND SNUFF WITH DEBOSSED "W" ON BASE
ITEM 7565. SNUFF BOTTLE WITH
DEBOSSED "W" ON BASE, golden olive amber, rectangular
with beveled edges, smooth base, 4 ¼"H, flared mouth,
mint. Blown at a New England Glass House, C. 1850.
Long attributed to one of the Stoddard Glass Works (Weeks), this
appealing snuff bottle is a particularly appealing example of
its type with dramatically shaded color and loads of crudity.
