ITEM 7556. "I. COVERT'S
- BALM OF LIFE," forest/emerald green, rectangular with
beveled edges, pontil scar, 6 1/8"H, crudely applied sloping
collar with ring, a mint bottle with some manufacturer's neck
crazing. Blown at the Mount Vernon Glass Works, Vernon, NY, C.
1840. A scarce bottle in an extremely rare color.
Purchased in the 1950s and not offered for sale until now, this
is far and away the finest example of this bottle we know of.
Unsurpassed in color and overall crudity this bottle is also
more boldly embossed than most Covert's and in pristine condition
without even a hint of wear. If you are looking for the ultimate
example of this hard-to-find colored pontiled medicine you have
found it!
