ITEM 7527. LABELED "RAPPEE
SNUFF" BOTTLE, golden amber, rectangular with beveled edges,
pontil scar, 4 3/8"H, sheared, tooled and fire polished
mouth, a mint bottle with some label loss as shown. Blown at
a New England Glass House, 1830-1850.
It is both the earthy label featuring a fiercely depicted eagle
and the original cork that takes this already wonderful snuff
bottle to the next level. The bottle itself is "boxier"
than most and in fact, I do not recall seeing or owning another
snuff blown in this exact mold.
