ITEM 7509. BLOWN-THREE-MOLD SALT CELLAR, (McK# GIII-25), deep cobalt blue, compressed ogee-shaped bowl with drawn stem and foot, pontil scar, 2"H, sheared, tooled and fire polished rim, a 1/8" flake is evident primarily on the underside of the mouth. Blown at the Sandwich Glass Works, Sandwich, MA, 1820-1840, scarce.

Flake or no flake, I simply could not resist the charms of this outstanding Sandwich-made salt cellar. The piece is more strongly embossed than any I can recall and the form of the salt is particularly successful.
