pale olive green, rectangular with beveled edges, pontil scar,
5 3/4"H, applied sloping collar, about mint (minor exterior
wear a manufacture related ¼" fissure in a beveled
edge). American, 1830-1850.
Dramatically light in color and remarkably well embossed, this
attractive Phoenix Bitters bottle is an especially handsome example.
The noted manufacturer's body fissure is a common occurrence
in this particular variation of the Phoenix Bitters and it is
likely a result of a flawed mold, as the fissure in invariably
located in the same place (near the "R" in "PRICE").
