ITEM 7362. PITKIN-TYPE FLASK,
brilliant yellow green, 24 ribs ribbed and swirled to the left,
pontil scar, 6 15/16"H, sheared and fire polished mouth,
a mint flask exhibiting some usage wear at the base edge. American,
probably blown at a Midwestern Glass House, 1810 to 1830, scarce
color.
Noticeably taller and narrower than is the norm, this brightly
colored Midwestern Pitkin-type flask is an especially successful
expression of the glassblower's art. The flask's color, form
and strength of impression are each exceptional attributes.
