IITEM 7336. DEMIJOHN, bright
golden olive amber, three piece mold cylinder, pontil scar, 11
3/4"H, mint. Blown at the Wesatford Glass Works, Westford,
CT, C. 1865.
As with each of the group of demijohns we have currently posted,
this three-piece mold cylinder is an exceptionally beautiful
example of its type. The bottle is plastered with whittle and
the construction (most notably the beveled base edge) shows it
to be a Westford made piece. The presence of the pontil scar
makes this an especially scarce example of its type.
