ITEM 7297. BLACKING BOTTLE, clear olive yellow, square, pontil scar, 4 9/16"H, crudely sheared and fire polished mouth, mint. Blown at a New England Glass House, 1830-1850.

It is this bottle's much lighter than normal color and short, wide neck that make it a particularly appealing example. Although a definite attribution cannot be made it is my sense that this is a Connecticut made bottle rather than one produced in New Hampshire.
