ITEM 7174. BLOWN GLASS UTILITY JAR, cobalt blue, cylindrical, pontil scar, 5"H, outwardly folded mouth, mint. Blown at a Southern New Jersey Glass House, C. 1860.

Over the years we have bought and sold several similar jars in shades of amber but this is the first time we have had the pleasure of offering a cobalt blue example. Definitely South Jersey and likely Whitney Glass Works in origin, the jar is attractively formed and blown from a beautifully colored batch of metal with some bubbles and swirl lines in the glass.
