ITEM 7154. DEMIJOHN, deep olive
green, dip mold cylinder, 12 ¾"H, applied sloping
collar, a mint bottle exhibiting some exterior usage wear. American,
probably blown at a New England Glass House, C. 1830.
Appearing at first glance to be of English origin, closer inspection
of this bottle's mouth treatment and glass texture reveal it
to be of American manufacture. As shown, the bottle appears "black"
in reflected light but strong backlighting reveals a rich green
coloring with loads of bubbles and impurities present in the
glass. This is a very interesting bottle of impressive size and
a strong visual presence.
