ITEM 7111. "LIBERTY"
/ EAGLE - "WILLINGTON / GLASS, CO / WEST, WILLINGTON / CONN"
HISTORICAL FLASKS, (McK# GII-63), foresty olive green, pontil
scar, half-pint, sheared mouth, mint. Blown at the Willington
Glass Works, West Willington, CT, 1860-1873.
It may well be out there but it would be tough for me to imagine
a finer example of a pontiled Willington half-pint. The flask
is very boldly embossed, brighter than most in color and free
of any damage or wear. Though the term itself is oft overused,
the piece does in fact qualify as a "best possible example."
