NEW YORK STATE FREEBLOWN BOWL - UNUSUAL SIZE!

ITEM 7055. FREEBLOWN DEEP BOWL, deep aquamarine, cylindrical with flaring sides, pontil scar, 3 ¾"H x 7 ¾"D, outwardly folded rim, about mint (a small, radiating stone is a manufacturer's flaw). Blown at a Western New York State Glass House, C. 1840, scarce size.

This delightfully formed bowl is smaller than most at just 7 ¾" in diameter. As is tyocial of tableware blown at Redford and Redwood the richly toned glass is quite thick and it exhibits a peculiar brilliance.
