SCARCE PONTIL STAFFORD'S OLIVE TAR - UNUSUAL TOP!

ITEM 7023. "J.R. STAFFORD'S - OLIVE TAR," (similar to Greer #1601), aquamarine, rectangular, pontil scar, 6 1/16"H, unusually formed applied mouth, mint. American, C, 1840, scarce. It is this bottle's delightfully long neck, highly whittled glass and unusual mouth treatment that make it a particularly appealing example of its type. Apparently the contents were not meant to be "taken" but rather applied and or placed in hot water to relieve nose and throat complaints. SOLD!
